Clubs and Activities

At Whitley there is a strong sense of belonging to a community. It is more than just a place to live and study.

We provide many opportunities to pursue new sports and hobbies as well as mix with the wider community. Students are encouraged to fully participate in College life, to seek new opportunities to grow in areas that complement their academic formation.

The Junior Common Room

The Junior Common Room is available to all residents of the College and is often the centre of student life at Whitley. The recreational equipment in the JCR includes table tennis, air hockey, pool and football. Residents can watch TV on a large screen projector in the TV room or engaging in a game of pool.

The Fitness Centre

The fitness centre is provided and maintained by the Student Club. Equipment includes exercise bikes, weight stations and a rowing machine.

Arts and Culture

Whitley actively fosters artistic expression and talent. For students with an interest and enthusiasm in art, music, dance or theatre, there are many opportunities to engage in a wide array of activities. One of the major events of each College year is a musical production: recent presentations have included The Boy-Friend, The Pygama Game and Guys and Dolls.
